How do we dress for success in dance class?
Read below for details on our dress code requirements and links for recommended products. If you are in need of new shoes, please check out our Shoe Swap box at the studio first.
The requirements for gender are entirely optional. Please choose the option that best suits your dancer’s comfort and personal preferences. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Girls Dress Code
We have attached links to products we recommend for each option. These options are not mandatory to purchase but please use them as an example if you purchase elsewhere. Dancer’s Image (1353 Washington St Newton) provides a 10% discount to our students. we highly recommend their store and expertise.
Ballet & Tap
sleeves can be any length and attached skirt is okay
Any color skirt or sweater optional
Younger Students: Black tap shoes with an elastic strap (no buckles or velcro, this makes it difficult to sew on bows for the recital)
Older Students: Black tap shoes (no character shoes)
Pink ballet slippers
Jazz & Tap
sleeves can be any length
Black shorts optional
no pants or leggings
Jazz & Hip-Hop
sleeves can be any length
Black shorts optional
no pants or leggings
Any brand or style is okay, as long as they are comfortable to dance in and are reserved for dance class only. No patterns or designs please.
